A colleague of mine likes to say that until our commitment to Christ runs so deep that it effects even how we throw away our trash, that commitment has not yet run deep enough. There are many ways to say that being a Christian should effect everything we do. CS Lewis once came at it a bit differently, saying that every decision makes us either a creature more fit for heaven or more fit for hell. What, then, are the sorts of issues that Christians should care about? Well, all of them. In this article, the writer considers the extent to which wealthy nations have used their power to slant "free" trade rules to their own benefit and to the disbenefit of the poorest nations. If we take Scripture seriously, does this not run counter to God's intentions for us? What can we do about it?
Sadly, they will tell you it doesn't matter what Jesus thought. They will tell you to ignore his teachings on the law (remember how he boiled them down to 2 - Love God and love your neighbor?). They are more concerned with what the Old Testament says -- an eye for an eye, slaughter your enemies, even the women and children and animals, et cetera.
People who go to these right wing churches do not practice any faith of which I am familiar.
