All that followers of Christ are to be and do rightly flows from God's intentions for human life together, and the fullest revelation of that comes via the life of Christ. The call to imitate Christ is an expression of this reality. Our blog explores the implications of imitating Christ for all aspects of human existence.
Thankfully a few folks are taking on the outrageous spectacle that is Sarah Palin. It never ceases to amaze me how we Christians fall easy suckers for anyone who knows a few of the catch phrases--even if there is no substance. I mean, really, think about her main point--deriding the elites, the educated. Anyone who thinks that makes sense, I have a challenge for you--next time you are sick and you go to the doctor (if you can afford to do so), make sure you ask if he/she was in the bottom of their class. Or, better, make sure they don't have one of those elitey medical degrees. Sheesh......
Yep, the market is working so well for folks, why would government want to get involved? I am totally embarrassed by all the Christians who think that letting this continue is better than government intervention.
Ah, yes, what would we do without the collective wisdom of our buddies at Faux Moos? Well, seems they either don't know the nuances of climate change theory or they intentionally misrepresent. Which do you think it is? By the way, I was eating out the other night and a particularly loud man at the other end of the dining room commented how this snow should get rid of all that "global warming crap." I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing...I mean, really, why not just holler out, "Look at me, I'm stupid!"
Hey, friends, I need some advice. I currently subscribe to Dish TV. When I subscribed, I figured I would have service for some time. However, I was recently broken into, and my television was stolen. It seemed reasonable to think this might qualify as a hardship (you know, takes a while to work through the insurance company, there is a deductible, might not be able to replace itetc.). It seemed that a company would waive cancellation charges in such a case, but they are being quite hard nosed about it. Do you know of any similar situations? What would you recommend? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The sheer distance from reality this implies and the identity politics
it represents found its natural apotheosis in Palin: also detached from
reality, and also an identity politics candidate - but not for women,
as it turned out, but for the white Christianist far-right.
